Terra Cotta Warriors
Xi'an

The Terra Cotta Warriors are an army of 8000 soldiers, made out of baked clay 2200 years ago by a Chinese emperor,
to protect him in the afterlife.  Discovered by a farmer digging in his field in 1974, they still stand where they were originally placed,
and a museum has been built around them.
